Inner Wheel Year 2006-7

September 2006
On Saturday September 9th, the new Inner Wheel Club of Greenford received its Charter.
Some 77 attended the dinner held at the Cumberland Hotel in Harrow.
This is the first Inner Wheel Club formed in the District since 1984.
The Inner Wheel Club of Greenford meets at 7pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

December 2006
Inner Wheel awarded a Virtual Gold Award by London's Air Ambulance for selecting it as the District Chairman's charity 2006-7.

April 2007
On 11 April, District Chairman Sue was at Rotary in London headquarters together with the Rotary District leadership team and some Rotary club presidents to meet the Rotary International President Bill Boyd and his wife Lorna who is a member of an Inner Wheel club in New Zealand.

June 2007
Audience of 165 including members of Inner Wheel, Rotarians, families and friends spent an enchanting evening at a concert in aid of London's Air Ambulance at St Giles Cripplegate.
Ensemble Adastra under the baton of Neil Ferris played Mozart's Hafner Symphony followed by Wagner's Seigfreid Idyll but the highlight of the evening was the virtuoso playing of Rotary in London's Incoming Ambassadorial Scholar Anna Sophie Dauenhauer in the Beethoven Violin Concerto. Inner Wheel Year 2007-8

July 2007
Sonja Doctor becomes District Chairman 2007-8

At the Installation ceremony held at the Lancaster Hall Hotel on 8 July 2007 Sonja Doctor a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Enfield was installed as the District Chairman of Inner Wheel in London D.13 by the outgoing District Chairman Sue Jessel.

During 2006-7 District Chairman Sue Jessel's charity for the year was London's Air Ambulance and at the meeting IPDC Sue handed over the results of the District's fund raising activities for 2006-7 to Andrew Cameron, Chief Executive of London's Air Ambulance. District Chairman Sonja decided to continue to support London's Air Ambulance in 2007-8.

Rotary in London's new District Governor Colin Matthews brought greetings from the Rotarians in London.

October 2007
The district was well represented at the Rotary in London annual conference in Eastbourne. Our exhibition stand was well stocked with Inner Wheel merchandise and we were so happy to see our friends from D.13.

Ann Goldsworthy becomes District Chairman 2008-9

At the Installation ceremony held at the Lancaster Hall Hotel on 7 July 2008 Ann Goldsworthy a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Pinner was installed as the District Chairman of Inner Wheel in London D.13 by the outgoing District Chairman Sonja Doctor.

During 2007-8 District Chairman Sonja's charity for the year was London's Air Ambulance and at the meeting IPDC Sonja handed over the results of the District's fund raising activities for 2007-8 to Christine Margetts of London's Air Ambulance.

District Chairman Ann has decided to support the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign in 2008-9

Rotary in London's new District Governor Wally K Daly brought greetings from the Rotarians in London.

September 2008
Memory Walk is the Alzheimer's Society's biggest annual fundraiser and a large group of members of Inner Wheel, Rotarians and friends met at York Gate on Saturday 20 September to walk around Regent's Park, under the late summer sun, in aid of the Alzheimers Society. During the walk the participants were asked to take part in the making of a film - a walk-on part that is! Click HERE to see the film poster.

10 January 2009 World Inner Wheel Day
To support the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign, Inner Wheel in London sponsored a day to commemorate World Inner Wheel Day - 10 January 2009. The day is displayed in the foyer of both hospitals and on the Royal Marden Cancer Campaign website.
